Well said. The point has been made that not all people are Christian and that is true. But there is only one true God and that is the Triune God of the Bible. The Father, Son and Spirit and whether a person is a "Christian" or not doesn't stop this one God from being God. He alone declares what is truely right and wrong and He had declared that homosexuality is an abomination and punishable by hell (as well as any other sin). One can either repent and turn to the salvation provided by the blood of Christ or face condemnation at jusgement. The duty of a Christian is to tell the world of the Good News that Jesus dies for sins and that there is deliverance for the homosexual in Christ.

And not to ruffle any feathers but the issue of "separation of church and state" is a modern myth. Not much more than a century ago the US Supreme Court ruled itself that America was a Christian Nation and I challenge anyone to fine writing by the Founding Fathers prohibiting Christianity from being backed by the US government. The statement comes from Thomas Jefferson reasurring the Danbury Baptists that ther would not be any denomination declared the state church over other denominations. Jefferson himself appropriated government money to fund Christian causes while in office.

no one will ever attack Christianity in the United States...i'm sure Thomas Jefferson did in fact back Christian laws in his day...I would too, and I believe in separation of church and state...I wouldn't back all of them of course if it affected a large group of people who didn't share the same moral values

I'm against.
And I am looking at it from a religious sort of persepctive I guess?
In the bible it says man shall not lay with man, nor woman with woman (or something along those lines?)
Plus, I think if it was 'meant to be' that there would be ways for childbirth between the same sex- but there's not.

I agree with gc completely and just because it says God on currency doesnt really mean it has to do with Christianity. God is just a generic name really. Allah is God,Budda is God,Emmanuel is God. Heck, some religions dont even refer to the higher being as God, I think the Hebrew term is the Eloheem(sp?). Anyway point being, there is a freedom of religion in this country and not everyone follows the bible so its impossible to judge others(wayyy too many judgemental people in the world anyway) when they dont even know what moral ethics one follows.

Seems like everybody tries to use the Bible as refernce for everything. Now could be wrong on this but doesnt the bible say to put your kids into slavery if the back talk the parents? If so think how many kids and some of today would be in slaved.

Like Unchained said I worry about own yard and they can worry about theirs. Two gay (Man or Woman) people getting isn't going to affect me and my way of life. I don't agree with it, but who am I to say who they can get married too. Shoot, they're going to be living together anyways. Being married just makes it offical thats all.

yes, it does say if your daughter disobeys you to sell her into slavery...also says you cannot touch the skin of a dead pig or eat shellfish

i like what unchained said about tending to his own yard...basically sums up everything im trying to say...with my beliefs and my values id never be gay and/or have an abortion...but i just cant bring myself to judge people who dont have those same values, and by the same token i cannot tell them what they can and cannot do

ill even say it's ok for you to go as far as try not to associate with homosexual people...but when people start to make LAWS to prevent them from doing something, it's gettin a little sketchy

I'm not gay . My opnion on this matter has changed somewhat I dont think they shoudl be allowed to get married however I feel that many are making this a religous argument. In all honesty I believe our country is turning into religous nuts. I think that is really sad, I believe in God but think that churches at this time are doing as much harm as good. Gay Marriage is turning into a political battle as well politicians are using this as tool to get elected so they can pass other things that people are overlooking because for some reason what Homosexuals do is now more important that other things in this country. My point is how does it bother you? A question to those of you who are more educated in the Bible than me does it not say to not judge that is God's job? So if thats the case let God deal without Preacher has two of the same sex wed.

Any moral argument is a "religious" argument. Religion is the outworking of a persons beliefs. Even atheism is a "religious" belief. Your presuppositional ideas are your religious thoughts. And culture is the outworking of a societies religious beliefs.

The job of the Government is to uphold God's word and to wield the swored when necessary (Romans 12). How a nation deals with God and His Word is directly related to His either blessing or cursing a nation. Do you think it mere accident that the Western nations that for centuries have been established upon Christianity have been so richly blessed while the heathen nations who worshiped vain idols and engaged in false religion squandered in poverty? God blesses those who seek to follow His commabnds and curses those who reject Him and His Son.
